- Situated just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the most extensive southerly white wine commune of the Côte-d'Or. Surprisingly enough for an appellation of this quality, no Grand Cru exists, however the high quality of the 1er Cru more then compensates for this. The vineyard of Meursault « Perrières » tends to show a soil that is thinner and stonier than many of its immediate neighbours, producing what is arguably one of the finest example of the wine from this village.

- Tasting NoteIt has a remarkably complex and perfumed nose which often needs a few years longer than other Meursaults to develop. The palate is opulent and rich with peach and nut notes that is long on the finish.

- Meursault Premier Cru "Perrières" 2018 - Wine Enthusiast - January 2020 - 92/100Intense creaminess on the nose of this wine has a lick of lemon. The palate presents the same combination and adds a textured, pithy and yeasty mouthfeel that seems to drill down to stony coolness, despite the creaminess above. Highlights of ripe Mirabelle juiciness and creamy smoothness last all the way to the long finish.

- Meursault 1er Cru "Perrières" 2017 - James Suckling - USA - February 2019 - 91/100Quite lifted with ripe nectarines, white peaches and hazelnuts. The palate has a very exotic edge, as well as a real spike of acidity and a slightly lifted edge to the finish. Piercing acidity. Give this two to three years to settle down.

A wide and actually silky nose. Growing higher tones of complexity, almost floral too - acacia? A faint gas, but then a silkiness and a weight of flavour. Really a great finish here with some intensity of flavour. This is a wine that gets better and better in the mouth. - not the most overt acidity but quite fresh enough. The medium-bodied flavors possess an attractive and seductive texture with a very suave mouth feel, all wrapped in a slightly toasty and lingering finish where a note of pain grillé surfaces. There's a latent creaminess midpalate that should develop with some age. Best from 2017 through 2027.

This strikes me as rather awkward today and I suspect that it will harmonize once in bottle. My score offers the benefit of the doubt. 2013+

- 2006 Meursault 1er Cru "Perrières"From a single block of vineyards, purchased as juice, the Latour 2006 Meursault Perrieres offers scents of white peach, honey, toasted almond, and lily-of-the-valley. Pungent citrus zest and chalky mineral notes compliment the creamy texture and peachy, nutty richness in evidence on the palate, and a horseradish-like hint (possibly from botrytis) fails to disturb a polished, richly-satisfying finish. This should keep well for at least 5-7 years.

To be sure, this is delicious, dense and mouth coating but this lacks the elegance one expects from Perrières. 87/now
