Description
- Typicity is of great importance for this wine. It is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from the lesser-known yet well placed vineyards of the southern Côte-d'Or, harmoniously united with small parcels of superior Santenay or Auxey-Duresses grapes. This gives an overall result startlingly reminiscent of a fine Côte de Beaune wine.
Vinification & Ageing
- FermentationTraditional in open vats
- Ageing10 to 12 months ageing in stainless steel vats
Wine tasting
- Tasting NoteBright ruby in color, the Bourgogne Cuvée Latour " 2013 reveals aromas of fruits on the nose such as raspberry and blackcurrant, accompanied by a touch of liquorice. On tasting, it is round and aromas of cherry emerge. A beautiful finish with nice mellow tannins.

- Bourgogne "Cuvée Latour" 2020 - James Suckling - 90/100 pts
Authentic red Burgundy aromas of sour cherry, wet earth and wild herbs. The generous body and fruit are supported by some fine tannins that were well-judged. The light and supple finish makes this easy to enjoy right now. Drink now.
- Bourgogne Rouge Cuvée Latour 2007 - Jamie Goode's Wineanorak - April 2010 - 82/100Apparently this is the most difficult wine to produce every year. Light, fresh and cherryish. A bit herby with some savoury character.
- Bourgogne Rouge 2005 - Burghound.com - April 2007 - 84-86/100An expressive nose of raspberry, cassis and earth nuances combines with only slightly rustic barely medium weight flavors that offer better than average complexity and only a touch of structure. This should drink well on the early side and it's agreeably delicious already. 2008+
- 2003 Bourgogne Rouge - Wine Spectator - May 31st, 2006 - 86 points :A supple, fleshy red, sporting cherry, spice and earth notes. It gets a lift from the fine tannins, ending with a tealike aftertaste. Dink now through 2010.
- 2003 Bourgogne Rouge - Burghound.com - April 2005 - 84 points :(Entirely from Côte d'Or grapes). Quite ripe aromatically but obviouly a pinot-based wine with rich, round and sweet flavors that are approachable now but should improve for a year or two. A delicious effort. 84/now+
- 2002 Bourgogne Rouge - Newsweek - May 23rd, 2005 :The 2002 vintage from France's Burgundy region is one of the best in the last 10 years, producing balanced pinot noirs with ripe fruit flavors and good acidity. Though these wines are often made in tiny quantities.
