  • « Les Aigrots » is situated to the south of the Beaune appellation, close to Pommard and adjacent to the famous « Clos des Mouches ». The gentle slope of this climat and its excellent exposure ensure the maturation of the grapes during the growing season. In the Burgundian dialect, the word 'aigrot' is used for holly bushes with thorny leaves. The vegetation of this place was thorny and prickly when it was given this name.

Press review
    • Beaune 1er Cru "Aigrots" 2002 - - July 2004 - 88/100Bright and pretty with edgy, mineral-infused flavors and a very high-toned nose of citrus and pear, all of wich is highlighted by racy acidity. The personality here is quite cool and reserved and this will appeal most to those who enjoy racy, understated wines. 2006+. By Allen Meadows (USA).
    • 2001 Beaune 1er Cru "Les Aigrots" - Wine Advocate - April 23rd, 2003 - 85-86 points :Smoke, minerals, and citrus fruits are found in the nose of the light to medium-bodied 2001 Beaune Aigrots. This pretty, fresh, spicy wine reveals lemon-infused minerals in its appealing lace-like character. It shoul be drunk over the next 24 months.
